Preschool Late Afternoon Assistant

Southfield School is Extended Day staff members for the 2025-2026 school year to support our after-school program from 2:30–5:30 PM each school day.

Candidates should have a warm, child-centered philosophy and enjoy working with young children in a collaborative and active environment. Responsibilities include distributing snacks, supervising students in classroom and outdoor play settings, and participating in daily activities and transitions. Candidates must be comfortable working outside in various weather conditions.

All new hires must pass a criminal background check with the Louisiana Department of Education.

Main Office Administrative Assistant

Southfield School in Shreveport, Louisiana, seeks an experienced professional to serve as an Administrative Assistant for the main office and for the Lower School Director. Qualified candidates for this position should be enthusiastic, efficient, and detail-oriented.  This is a full time position with an anticipated start date of January 5, 2026.

Reporting to the Lower School Director and working alongside main office administrators, the Administrative Assistant will provide support for all aspects of the school’s programs. The Main Office Administrative Assistant is responsible for implementing and overseeing many aspects of the operational side of the school. This position requires a candidate who works well with all constituents of Southfield School and has a work history demonstrating productivity and a solution-oriented approach.  This position represents the ‘face’ of the school, often serving as the first point of contact and creating a warm, welcoming experience for visitors, parents, and guests.  This is a full-time position (40 hours per week), 12-month position following the academic calendar.
