Certified Academic Language Therapist

Southfield School in Shreveport, Louisiana, seeks a dynamic and experienced Certified Academic Language Therapist to begin in the 2026-2027 school year. This highly qualified individual will work alongside our Reading Specialists in the Southfield Learning Center to provide targeted, research-based therapy to students diagnosed with language-based learning differences.  Qualified candidates for this position should have at least a Master’s degree in Education with a current CALT qualification. The preferred candidate for this position will be trained in multiple intervention programs, including, but not limited to, Scottish Rite’s Take Flight, MTA, UFLI, Orton-Gillingham, and other multi-sensory language programs. 

In the role of the Certified Academic Language Therapist, you will be responsible for supporting intervention for qualified students and providing instructional and behavioral support for teachers and staff. This full-time role seeks an educator with a deep commitment to students who learn differently, someone who truly believes every child can thrive when supported with the right environment, encouragement, and innovative instruction. This person embraces a high-challenge, high-support model and works confidently alongside students with ADHD, dyslexia/dysgraphia, and other learning differences. Grounded in collaboration, they intentionally design and adapt instruction to honor individual learning profiles, strengths, and interests. Through strong, trusting relationships and clear, consistent communication with families, this teacher supports students’ academic growth, social-emotional development, and overall well-being.

Physical Education Teacher

Southfield School in Shreveport, Louisiana, seeks an experienced professional to serve as a physical education teacher. Qualified candidates for this position should have at least a bachelor’s degree in education (or a closely related field) with a current certification. 

In the role of the Physical Education (PE) teacher, you will be responsible for designing and delivering a dynamic PE curriculum that promotes physical fitness, sportsmanship, teamwork, and healthy habits across multiple grade levels. You will assess both group and individual student progress, adapting activities to support a range of abilities and developmental needs. In addition, you will formally communicate student progress multiple times throughout the year. You will also be responsible for supervising students during PE classes, on the playground, in the lunchroom, and during school arrival and dismissal times. Participation in school-wide committees and attendance at occasional after-school functions and events will also be expected. This position follows the academic calendar.
