5th Grade ELA Teacher

Southfield School in Shreveport, Louisiana, seeks an experienced professional to serve as a as a middle school English teacher. Qualified candidates for this position should have at least a bachelor’s degree in education (or a closely related field) with a current certification. 

In the role of the middle school English teacher, you will guide students as they develop an understanding and appreciation of literature.  You will help students advance their written and verbal skills as you deliver lessons using a variety of differentiated instructional techniques that are appropriate to the academic level of students.  In addition, you will formally communicate student progress multiple times of year through written reports, checklists, and parent conferences. You will also be asked to participate on school-wide committees and to attend functions occasionally beyond school hours.
