Custom Notebook Creations

Coordinator: Katie Dyer

Get creative and design a notebook that's uniquely yours! Students will personalize a custom notebook using stickers, markers, colorful paper, and other fun craft supplies. Whether you use it as a journal, sketchbook, storybook, or place to jot down ideas, your notebook will be one of a kind. Then, create a matching bookmark to keep your place in your favorite books. This fun, hands-on craft is a great way to express your creativity while making something you can use all year long!

Belt Bag Creations

Get creative and design a one of a kind belt bag that's uniquely yours! Students will personalize their own belt bag using a variety of colorful art supplies and fun embellishments. Students will explore their creativity, express their personal style, and take home a custom accessory they can use every day.

Boo-tiful Brushstrokes

Coordinator: Stephanie Kyle

Get ready for a fun, creative afternoon where kids can bring their own spooky visions to life! In this guided canvas class, students will paint pre-drawn Halloween canvases step-by-step. We’ll paint together as a group, but every artist will have total freedom to choose their own colors, patterns, and style to make their masterpiece uniquely theirs. Perfect for all skill levels—no experience needed!

3D Collage Workshop

Coordinator: Lauren Rhodes

Join Ms. Lauren to make a "3-D collage" using materials such as clay, wooden dowels, pony beads, wooden beads, cardboard pieces, fun pipe cleaners and beautiful paint. We will begin with a story time to spark our imaginations. Children are free to use their imaginations, explore the materials, and create whatever they want. This time will focus on process and exploration over product.

Color Mixing and Print Making Workshop

Coordinator: Lauren Rhodes

Join Ms. Lauren for a fun time of artistic exploration! We will start out time together with a book that will jumpstart our creativity, followed by an introduction to basic color theory. Children will then be invited to mix up their own colors. After, we will use the colors we made to do some printmaking using everyday items such as muffin tins, legos, and bubble wrap. This experience will focus on artistic play and exploration over product. Come ready to have some messy fun!

Back to School Baking & Snack Making!

We believe learning continues long after the school day ends. Our clubs help students build confidence, teamwork, and problem-solving skills through hands-on activities they enjoy. With a variety of options, each student can find something that sparks their curiosity.

Pep Squad (Year-Round Club)

Coordinator: Nikki Lozano

Bring the SPIRIT! Pep Squad gives our 1st–4th grade girls a chance to learn cheers and chants, build confidence, and show their Eagle pride alongside our cheerleaders! Pep Squad typically meets once a month after school and will have opportunities throughout the year to cheer on Southfield athletes and participate in games, pep rallies, Flag Ceremonies, and other special events. We’ll also build a fun “big sis/little sis” connection between Pep Squad and our older cheerleaders.

Robotics Team (Semester-Long Club)

Coordinator: Genevieve Saulter

Have fun and make friend's on Southfield's robotics team as we prepare for a little friendly competition at the First Lego League Competition in December. Students will focus on the fundamentals of engineering while experiencing hands-on problem solving. Students will learn to design, code, and discover real-world solutions using a Lego robot. The robot will autonomously complete missions against a playing field during two-and-a-half minute matches. Students will also explore the biodiversity theme in the game and Innovation Project.

Trivia & Chess Club (Semester-Long Club)

Drone Explorers Club

Coordinator: Genevieve Saulter

Learn the basics of flight and how drones work in this fun club! Students will work with a partner to build an exploratory drone they can manipulate and test. Drone is meant for teaching engineering and flight principles. Students will not be able keep the drone at the end of the club, but will be inspired to build on this new passion!

Ready, Set, Bam! Junior Mahjong Club

Coordinator: Rachel Smith

Looking for a fun, brain-boosting after-school activity? Join us on Thursday afternoons for Ready, Set, Bam! Junior Mahjong Club is a 6-week, hands-on introduction to one of the world’s most popular tile-based strategy games! Over six interactive, 1-hour sessions, students will team up with friends to master the basics of Mahjong, from matching suits and learning unique tile combinations to building strategic thinking and pattern recognition skills. Whether your child is completely new to the game or eager to build on what they know, this club offers an encouraging, friendly environment to make new friends, flex their critical-thinking muscles, and fall in love with a classic game they can play for a lifetime. Lower School Art Club

Lower School Art Club is for 1st-4th grade students who just cant get enough art! We'll meet once a week for extra opportunities to create, experiment, with new materials, and explore fun projects beyond what we have time for during regular art class. Come make, imagine and create with us!
