After School & Summer Programs Coordinator

Primary Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of child development. 
  • Support the school’s mission and culture in encouraging each child’s lifelong love of learning. 
  • Develop, organize, and manage after-school and summer programs ensuring they align with the mission and philosophy. 
  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate all after-school and summer program staff. 
  • Work with the Director of Finance to create and manage program budgets and employee payroll for aftercare, clubs, and summer camp. 
  • Oversee registration and coordinate billing for all programs. 
  • Coordinate and oversee the purchase of supplies and snacks for all programs. 
  • Ensure effective safety and dismissal protocols. 
  • Respond to families in a timely manner and share important details and information throughout the year. 
  • Ensure programs meet all regulatory and licensing requirements. 
  • Work with Marketing Assistant to share program news and events with parents and staff. 
  • Develop a vision and plan for how programs can enhance school revenues and reputation. 
  • Enhance and grow Southfield’s extracurricular offerings. 
  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including educators, students, and external. 
  • Actively create networks with colleagues, other schools, and professional organizations to grow your knowledge continuously and demonstrate your commitment to lifelong learning.
  • Be committed to self-reflection to evaluate your instruction, assessment, and professional responsibilities, and explore new ideas, research, and pedagogical practices that enhance the student experience. 
  • Adhere to the school’s expectations regarding punctuality, timeliness, dress code, and confidentiality while also embracing and contributing to the school’s life beyond your instructional role. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
  • Experience in program development and coordination, preferably in an educational setting. 
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficient in advanced technology skills 
  • Physical requirements: ability to lift up to 40 lbs., ability to move easily around campus, ability to sit, bend, kneel, stand, and walk frequently.
