Southfield School Summer Camp offers week-long day camp sessions that impart leadership, build confidence, and allow children to explore their passions. We offer a memorable summer experience where campers PS4-8th grade can cultivate their strengths across a broad range of camps that solidify STEAM concepts in a fun and relaxed play-based environment.
Preschool Camp Sessions

Artic Adventures
June 5-9
Brrr… Come and join us for a week of learning about all things Arctic. We will learn about the animals, native people, and the climate. There will be cooking, art, and so much more!
A Week on the Farm
June 12-16
Campers will enjoy a week of learning all about the farm. We will learn about the jobs and machinery that are used on the farm as well as the animals that call a farm home. Camp will end the week with a pony ride.
Wacky Week
June 19-23
What a wacky world we live in! Campers will participate in wacky activities, make wacky food, and create wacky art! Campers are invited, but not required, to participate in our wild and wacky celebrations.

Red, White, and You!
June 26-30
We will create all things Red, White, and Blue. We will cook, create art, and play games. Your camper will end the week with a Red, White, and Blue celebration.
On the Go
JULY 10-14
Vroom vroom, beep beep, and all aboard!! This week is all about different modes of transportation. Campers will paint, cook, and play, all while learning about different modes of transportation.
Dynamite Dinos
July 17-21
This week we are going prehistoric and learning about all things dinosaur related. Campers will have a roaring good time cooking, creating art, and reading all about dinosaurs.

Lower & Middle School Camp Sessions
Help your children cultivate their passions this summer with Southfield Summer Camp. Our sessions are designed with intention to stimulate curious minds and keep your children engaged and learning while having fun. Our integrated programming has students working across concepts in STEAM while they engage in activities they love. For our Lower and Middle School campers, we offer themed weeks with a daily rotating schedule that includes cooking, PE, technology, and arts and crafts. We also offer Specialized Camps (pricing and schedule for those camps are indicated within the descriptions).

Animal Encounters
JUNE 5-9
Join us for an amazing animal expedition as we play crazy animal games, cook up some silly animal themed snacks, and create awesome animal art!
Travel the States
JUNE 12-16
Across the country we will go! Campers will be learning select areas of the USA. Each “vacation” destination will include an exploration of the area’s well-known landmarks, famous Americans, and food specialties.

Stories can be told in many different ways. This week we will explore the various methods of storytelling. Your child is invited, but not required, to dress up.

Come and enjoy a week of creating and experimenting with a variety of materials and manipulatives. Campers will have fun exploring STEAM activities with their friends.
Express Yourself
june 12-16: $160 + $40 SUPPLY FEE
Rising 4th-8th Graders • 9 am-noon
Campers will take a deeper dive into the world of art. These campers will create beautiful realistic and abstract art while experimenting with a variety of materials such as pencils, colored pencils, pastels, and watercolor paints. Campers will further develop their creative skills while making new friends and having FUN!
Summer Scientists
June 12-16: $160 + $35 SUPPLY FEE
Rising 1st-6th Graders • 9:00 am-noon
Come explore the world of science with Dr. Shumate in this week-long camp! Students will perform experiments that illustrate important, fun concepts in chemistry, physics, and biology. Every day will begin with students making a hypothesis, designing an experiment to test that hypothesis, then reaching a conclusion. We look forward to seeing you here this summer!
Robotics Challenge Week
June 12-16: $160 + $10 supPLY FEE
Rising 5th-8th Graders • 12:00-3:00 pm
Gear up to showcase your engineering skills as you assemble an advanced EV3 Lego robot of your choice. You and a partner will present your robot to the group as a solution to a real-world problem. Builds come from basic kit and expansion set. Previous robotics experienced preferred, but not necessary. All robots property of Southfield School.
Bricks 4 Kidz Southfield Camp
June 19-23: $160 + $20 SUPPLY FEE
Rising 1st-6th Graders • 12:00-3:00 pm
Come build at the number one LEGO technic camp in Louisiana! Elementary aged campers will work and play with specialized LEGO Technic pieces such as gears, axles, battery packs, motors, mosaic, color bricks, and more!
Bricks 4 Kidz camps keep the pace fast and varied with guided projects and challenges as well as time for free-play, so the kids are always having fun. Children work in pairs to build projects using Bricks 4 Kidz model plans. They also get to make creations of their own during our creative build time. We keep the action going with unique games and challenges using LEGO Bricks as well as LEGO Art and crafts to make sure they get their fill of LEGO fun!
Each camper will receive a Bricks 4 Kidz custom mini-fig, meet new friends and have a great week of summer camp.
Pokémon Camp
June 19-23: $160 + $20 SUPPLY FEE
Rising 2nd-8th Graders • 9:00 am-noon
Do you love all things Pokémon? Join us for a week of Pokémon trading, card battles, show-watching, designing your own cards, Pokémon-themed snacks, crafts, a scavenger hunt, and more. Catch all the fun at camp this summer!
Color Your World
June 26-30: $160 + $40 supPLY FEE
Rising K-3rd Graders • 9:00 am-noon

Rube Goldberg Machine Design
july 10-14: $160 + $15 SUPPLY FEE
Rising 3rd-8th Graders • 9:00 am-noon
Campers will have fun and make new friends creating chain reaction machines like those made famous by Rube Goldberg where a seemingly simple task is made unnecessarily complicated (think: Mouse Trap). Teams will research, envision, and build Rube Goldberg machines using simple household items. This will be a great adventure in problem-based learning. Success will require teamwork, problem solving, contraption design, prototyping, and testing. Students may be invited to bring in materials from home as well as using the provided recycled materials. The end of the week will be a big reveal when the machines are put to the test for all to see.
Memory Makers
July 10-14: $160 + $40 SUPPLY FEE
Rising 1st-3rd Graders • 9 am-noon
Calling all memory makers! Join us for a half-day camp where we get to work together and get to know one another through sharing, creating, and documenting fun camp memories. Each camper will turn blank pages into a book filled with photos, memorabilia, journaling, and more!
Basketball Madness
July 17-21: $160 + $30 supPLY FEE
Rising 1st-4th Graders • 9:00 am-noon
During this fun camp, our coaches work with young players on developing their individual basketball skills. We want to make the most of every day and we do that with enthusiasm and a positive attitude. Here are a few things campers will learn on the court:
- Ball handling drills
- Proper shooting technique
- Passing and catching skills
- Defensive stance and movements
- Sportsmanship
- How to be a good teammate
Please wear athletic shoes and clothing.

Rising 5th-8th Graders • 9 am-noon
So you think you can dance? How about your robot? Assemble an advanced EV3 Lego robot of your choice, pick a song, and let’s see your moves! You and a partner will build a Lego robot and program it to complete a 90 second dance that you choreograph/program with another group. We may even learn a human dance or two! Builds come from basic kit and expansion set. Previous robotics experienced preferred, but not necessary. No dance experience necessary. All robots property of Southfield School.
Chefs in Training
July 17-21: $160.00 + $30 supPLY FEE
Rising 1st-3rd Graders • 9:00 am-noon
Calling all aspiring chefs! Join us for a half-day camp that gets your chef in training in the kitchen to learn to cook in a way that’s hands-on and fun. Each camper will learn basic culinary and baking skills, all while collecting a recipe keepsake to share at home!
All Sports Camp
July 24-28: $160 + $30 SUPPLY FEE

Your camper will enjoy a fun-filled week learning cheers, chants, stunts, and dances alongside your favorite Southfield cheerleaders. The week will conclude with a cheer showcase of all the material learned. Your cheerleader will also show off their skills during a Flag Ceremony during the 2023-24 school year! Your child will be provided snacks and a t-shirt to wear for their performances.
