Southfield School Summer Camp offers week-long day camp sessions that impart leadership, build confidence, and allow children to explore their passions. We offer a memorable summer experience where campers PS4-8th grade can cultivate their strengths across a broad range of camps that solidify STEAM concepts in a fun and relaxed play-based environment. 

 

Preschool Camp Sessions

Preschool Sessions for ages 4-6 • *Preschool 3 for Current Southfield Students Only

9:00 am – 3:00 pm • $240.00 Per Week • Bring a Sack Lunch • Snack Provided

Animal Planet 

June 6-10 

The children will enjoy a week of exploring animals from around the world and their different habitats.

Five Senses

June 13-17

Campers will enjoy a week of learning about and using their five senses. We will taste yummy snacks, see different colors and objects in our rooms, feel the items in the room and nature outside. We will listen to music, the sounds of the classroom, and the world outside. We will smell the delicious smell of our snacks and lunches. This will be a week of discovery!

Barnyard Bash

June 20-24

Yee Haw! It is time for a barnyard bash. Campers will learn about farm animals and the different jobs farmers do. Campers will end the week with pony rides.

Hooray for the USA

June 27-July 1 

Get ready to celebrate the USA with all things Red, White, and Blue. We will cook, create art, and play games. Your camper will end the week with a Red, White, and Blue celebration. 

Outdoor Explorers

JULY 11-15

Your camper will enjoy a week of creating and exploring nature. We will do some planting, explore outside, and create art using materials found in nature.

 

Music and Movement

July 18-22

We will move to the music as we spend the week learning about different musical styles.

 

 

Lower & Middle School Camp Sessions 

Help your children cultivate their passions this summer with Southfield Summer Camp. Our sessions are designed with intention to stimulate curious minds and keep your children engaged and learning while having fun. Our integrated programming has students working across concepts in STEAM while they engage in activities they love.  For our Lower and Middle School campers, we offer themed weeks with a daily rotating schedule that includes cooking, PE, technology, and arts and crafts. We also offer Specialized Camps (pricing and schedule for those camps are indicated within the descriptions).

Holidays in the Sun 

JUNE 6-10

Why only celebrate holidays once a year? At our Holidays in the Sun camp, your camper will get to celebrate some of our favorite holidays again.

Monday- Love is in the air as we celebrate Valentine’s Day.

Tuesday-We will have a SPOOKtacular time while celebrating Halloween. 

Wednesday- It’s all about the luck of the Irish as we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

Thursday- Celebrate the New Year with us!

We will end the week by having a Mardi Gras Bash!

Campers are invited and encouraged to dress up for the theme each day.

 

World of Wonder 

JUNE 13-17

We will explore China, England, France, Italy and Mexico this week. Campers will cook popular food and create art from all over the world.

 

Music Madness 

JUNE 20-24

Your camper will learn about different music styles and the popular dances that go along with each genre. Your camper is invited to dress up for each day’s theme. 

Monday- We will learn how to two step to Country music. 

Tuesday- Get ready to do the Charleston and listen to Jazz music.

Wednesday- We will be line dancing to Pop music. 

Thursday-Put your hands in the air as we do some arm waving to Hip Hop music. 

Friday- We will end the week with a little Jitterbugging to Rock and Roll music.

Hooray for the USA

JUNE 27-JULY 1

Your camper will enjoy a week of red, white, and blue fun! We will create red, white, and blue art and cook red, white, and blue food. We will end the week with a Red, White, and Blue celebration. 

Outdoor Explorers 

JULY 11-15

We will be using items found in nature to create art. We will plant seeds and cook food inspired by nature. Your children will have fun learning about nature and weather with their fellow campers.

Southfield Cheer Clinic* 

June 6-10: $160.00 + $30 Supply Fee

Rising K-4th Graders • 12:00-3:00 pm • *Southfield Students ONLY

Your camper will enjoy a fun-filled week learning cheers, chants, stunts, and dances alongside your favorite Southfield Cheerleaders. The week will conclude with a cheer showcase of all the material learned. Your cheerleader will also show off their skills during the September Flag Ceremony in the 2022-2023 school year! Your child will be provided snacks and a T-Shirt to wear for their performances.

STEAM Camp

june 6-10: $160.00 + $25 Supply Fee

Rising 1st-5th Graders • 9:00 am-noon

Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math! Oh my!

Come and enjoy a week of creating and experimenting with a variety of materials and manipulatives. Campers will have fun exploring STEAM activities with their friends.

 

 

Pokémon Camp

june 13-17: $160 + $20 SUPPLY FEE

Rising 2nd-8th Graders • 9 am-noon 

Do you love all things Pokémon? Join us for a week of Pokémon trading, card battles, show-watching, coloring/designing your own cards, Pokémon themed snacks, crafts/modeling a 3D character, a scavenger hunt, and ending with a Pokémon cake design celebration and more. Catch all the fun at camp this summer! 

No experience necessary, but you will need to bring your own cards. 

 

Bricks 4 Kidz Southfield Camp

June 13-17 OR june 27-july 1:              $160 + $20 SUPPLY FEE

Rising 1st-6th Graders • 12:00-3:00 pm

Come build at the number one LEGO technic camp in Louisiana!  Elementary aged campers will work and play with specialized LEGO Technic pieces such as gears, axles, battery packs, motors, mosaic, color bricks, and more! 

Bricks 4 Kidz camps keep the pace fast and varied with guided projects and challenges as well as time for free-play, so the kids are always having fun. Children work in pairs to build projects using Bricks 4 Kidz model plans. They also get to make creations of their own during our creative build time.   We keep the action going with unique games and challenges using LEGO Bricks as well as LEGO Art and crafts to make sure they get their fill of LEGO fun!

Each camper will receive a Bricks 4 Kidz custom mini-fig, meet new friends and have a great week of summer camp.  

 

Summer Scientists

June 13-17: $160 + $35 SUPPLY FEE

Rising 1st-6th Graders • 9:00 am-noon

Come explore the world of science with Dr. Shumate in this week-long camp! Students will perform experiments that illustrate important, fun concepts in chemistry, physics, and biology. Every day will begin with students making a hypothesis, designing an experiment to test that hypothesis, then reaching a conclusion. We look forward to seeing you here this summer!

 

Express Yourself

June 20-24: $160 + $55 SUPPLY FEE

Rising 1st-8th Graders • 9:00 am-noon

Campers will create beautiful realistic and abstract art while experimenting with a variety of materials such as: pencils, colored pencils, pastels, and watercolor paints.  Campers will develop their creative skills while making new friends and having FUN!

 

Robotics Challenge Week 

June 20-24: $160.00 + $10 supPLY FEE

Rising 5th-8th Graders • 9:00 am-noon

Gear up to showcase your engineering skills as you assemble an advanced EV3 Lego robot of your choice. You and a partner will present your robot to the group as a solution to a real-world problem. Builds come from basic kit and expansion set. Previous robotics experienced preferred, but not necessary.  All robots property of Southfield School. 

Rube Goldberg Machine Design

june 27-july 1: $160 + $15 SUPPLY FEE

Rising 3rd-8th Graders • 9:00 am-noon

Campers will have fun and make new friends creating chain reaction machines like those made famous by Rube Goldberg where a seemingly simple task is made unnecessarily complicated (think: Mouse Trap). Teams will research, envision, and build Rube Goldberg machines using simple household items.  This will be a great adventure in problem-based learning. Success will require teamwork, problem solving, contraption design, prototyping, and testing. Students may be invited to bring in materials from home as well as using the provided recycled materials. The end of the week will be a big reveal when the machines are put to the test for all to see. 

 

Dancing With Robots

July 11-15: $160 + $10 SUPPLY FEE

Rising 5th-8th Graders • 9 am-noon

So you think you can dance? How about your robot?  Assemble an advanced EV3 Lego robot of your choice, pick a song, and let’s see your moves! You and a partner will build a Lego robot and program it to complete a 90 second dance that you choreograph/program with another group. We may even learn a human dance or two! Builds come from basic kit and expansion set. Previous robotics experienced preferred, but not necessary. No dance experience necessary. All robots property of Southfield School. 

 

3D Art

July 18-22: $160 + $55 SUPPLY FEE

Rising 1st-8th Graders • 9 am-noon

Campers will create sculptures and weaving art using recycled materials in this fun and imaginative 3D art camp!

 

All Sports Camp

July 18-22: $160.00 + $30 supPLY FEE

Rising 1st-8th Graders • 9:00 am-noon

Fill your days with PE and sports related activities.  Included are soccer, flag-tag, scooter hockey, eagle ball and many, many more! Shirt Included.

Please wear athletic shoes and clothing.

Speed & Agility

July 25-28: $160 + $30 SUPPLY FEE

Rising 1st-8th Graders • 9:00 am-noon

Your camper will gain new skills and meet new friends while they work on their speed and agility in this fun and energetic sports camp!
