Meet Our Eagles

Since 1934, Southfield students have carried on a legacy of integrity and impressive achievements. Whether it be athletics, academics, philanthropy, or even the arts, we love to see our Eagles go out into the world and soar. Here are just a few examples of our special students and Alumni.

Andrew Briley (’20)

With a 4.0 GPA, Andrew ranks 3/473 at C. E. Byrd High School. Active in Youth and Government, he also holds the honor of AP Scholar with Distinction and is a member of the National Honor Society. Playing varsity basketball, varsity soccer, and tennis, he also organized and created an ACT tutoring program for his basketball teammates.

Cole Evensky (’14)

Graduating college in three years, Cole was then able to work and gain clinical experience for a year before starting med school. He is currently an Emergency Room Technician and has been involved in several clubs and boards, including St. Baldrick’s and Camp Tiger. He volunteers at community health days, at the MLK Clinic as an interpreter for Spanish-speaking patients, and is on the executive council as the Campus Technology Chair.

Connor Hansen (’20)

Connor holds a 4.7 GPA, scored a composite 35 on his ACT, was awarded 2019-20 Student of the Year at his high school, placed 1st in Physics and Calculus at Louisiana District Rally 2019, and 2nd in Physics at Louisiana State Rally 2019. He will be attending the University of Utah in the fall, where he was directly admitted into the College of Engineering. Connor enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding, weight lifting, and computer coding in his free time.

Mack Guilbert (’28)

Mack loves the hands-on learning opportunities Southfield offers – his favorite subject is Ms. C’s science lab. He won 1st place in the Bonnie Plants state cabbage project for 3rd grade in 2019 and was awarded a $1,000 scholarship. Mack enjoys participating in Cub Scouts at Southfield and also loves playing baseball, listening to music, and exploring new places. 

Annie Kennedy (’15)

Annie graduated from LSU with a Major in Biology and Minor in Business Administration. She took part in LSU’s upper-level biology program in Alaska. She has since been accepted into LSU’s School of Dentistry from more than 600 applicants.

Ethan Manwaring (’21)

An Eagle Scout, Ethan is a Philmont high adventure trail leader, was elected to Order of the Arrow, and has over 50 merit badges in Scouts. He is a National Honor Society member at Magnet High, a member of Mock Trial Club, and member of the Model of UN Club.

Adriana Martin (’25)

Adriana holds the award for the top child in the world under the age of 16 at memorizing pi and is currently listed on the world pi ranking as 8th in the US and 44th in the world with 6,086 digits. She was accepted into the Talented Arts Program for violin in Caddo Parish, is a straight-A student, and enjoys fencing, cheerleading, golf, swimming, and basketball. 

Steele Netterville (’17)

Steele is a Pre-Med, Biology Major and maintains an A-average. He was recognized on the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll and earned the C-USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal. Steele currently plays Outfield for the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs baseball team. 

Bradley Potts (’15)

Bradley graduated from SMU with Majors in Political Science and Business Management, a Minor in Public Policy and International Affairs as a HCM Tower Scholar. In addition to numerous awards and accolades, he was also selected as the standard-bearer for the Cox School of Business. Bradley plans to attend law school.

Taylor Rosen (’20)

A 2019 National Merit Semifinalist, Taylor is also an AP Scholar with Distinction Award winner and scored an impressive 1580 on her SAT. She currently holds a 4.0 at Caddo Magnet High School and is ranked first in her class.

Macy Scott (’16)

Macy attends Baylor University and is working on her Bachelor of Arts in Medical Humanities with Minors in French and Sociology. She has been inducted into Pi Delta Phi French Honor Society, Order of Omega Honor Society, and Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. In addition to maintaining a 4.0 GPA, she volunteers 90+ hours each year.

Iza Zebaneh (’19)

Iza attends TCU where he received the honored Chancellor’s Scholarship. He was also awarded the 2019 Best of Preps Student-Athlete of the Year and was a state winner for the Wendy’s High School Heisman $500 scholarship.
