Current Positions:

Director of Advancement

The Advancement Director is a member of the leadership team of the School and is responsible for developing, managing and administering all aspects of development/fundraising, relationship management, and marketing. The director will work directly with the Headmaster and Board of Trustees through the Development Committee and the Enrollment Management/Marketing Committee to achieve the short and long term goals of the School. The director will lead at least two full-time staff members of the Advancement Team, who will assist the Director in accomplishing the departmental goals.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher, Master’s degree preferred
  • Three years’ experience in major gift fundraising and marketing; independent school setting preferred
  • Demonstrated results in meeting fundraising goals through development and marketing efforts
  • Employee Leadership and Management experience
  • Experience working with a Board of Trustees/Directors
  • Ability to accurately manage and meet an annual budget
  • Technologically savvy with experience with a variety of software including donor management, Microsoft Office Suite, email, email marketing, and social media.
  • Exemplary Writing, Speaking and Communication Skills
  • Flexible, Professional and Confidential.

 Development/Fundraising Responsibilities:

  • Professionally manage all stages of the donor cycle including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of past and present donors.
  • Design and manage campaigns to reach fundraising goals set by the Development Committee of the Board in the areas of Annual Fund, Capital Campaigns, Major Giving (for capital and endowment) and Planned Giving
  • Understand and utilize the Veracross Donor Management software to train and manage staff for gift processing and effective reporting
  • Understand non-profit financial management and work with the Director of Finance/Business Office staff to meet all non-profit guidelines and proper reporting

 Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with donors, current parents, alumni, prospective donors, and faculty and staff.
  • Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with volunteers to ensure project deadlines are completed and goals are accomplished
  • Manage an alumni relations program including an Alumni Board of Directors and special alumni events

 Marketing

  • Manage the School’s brand ensuring consistency in graphics, photographs, and video representations and messaging that is driven by the School’s stated vision, mission, and core values
  • Drive the recruitment of new families and retention of current families by developing, managing and measuring a comprehensive marketing plan which includes PR, Advertising (traditional and digital,) Social Media, Collateral Materials, Website, and Email Marketing
  • Work with the Admissions Director, staff and Enrollment Management Committee to achieve annual enrollment goals
  • Manage the parent communications program including support of Parents’ Association and Dads’ Club events and weekly parent informational emails
  • Manage and support marketing plans for all non-tuition revenue programs to achieve financial goals in these areas 

Advancement Assistant

The Advancement Assistant is a member of the Advancement Team of the School and is responsible for directly supporting the Advancement Director and Communications Director in developing, managing and administering all aspects of development/fundraising, relationship management, and marketing.

 Qualifications/Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher
  • Experience in fundraising, database management or marketing; independent school setting preferred
  • Technologically savvy with experience with a variety of software including donor management, Microsoft Office Suite, email, email marketing, and social media
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to work well with volunteers of all generations and backgrounds
  • Outstanding Writing, Speaking, and Communication including editing
  • Flexible, Professional and Confidential

 Development/Fundraising Support:

  • Gift processing, reporting and database management of the Veracross Donor Management software
  • Prepare formal acknowledgments for gifts received
  • Arrange appointments and manage calendar as directed for donor appointments for the Director, Headmaster and Board Members
  • Organize and manage details for fundraising, cultivation and stewardship events

  Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with donors, current parents, alumni, prospective donors, and faculty and staff.
  • Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with volunteers to ensure project deadlines are completed and goals are accomplished

  • Support the School’s comprehensive marketing program as directed by the Advancement Director
