Southfield School Middle School Students received two ArtBreak awards: Kent Felty won Level 6 Juror’s Choice for his acrylic “Boats at Argenteuil” and Grace Long won Level 7 Juror’s Choice for her batik “Himalayan Woman.”

In the Duck Stamp Art Competition sponsored by the US Dept of Interiors and the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Southfield School students won several recognitions. Placing 3rd in her division was Mackenzie Brown with her “King Eider.” Southfield was the only Shreveport school to place out of 287 entries from Louisiana. Honorable Mentions were given to Sarah Bryan for “Hooded Merganser,” Alex Gary for “Common Golden Eye,” Sam Longino for “Wood Duck,” and Cami Miller for “Wood Duck."
