Tuition Tuition is due in full by August 15 to avoid service charges. Tuition may also be paid by the semester or monthly - both options incur an additional service charge of 1.5% on the unpaid balance. Monthly or semester payment plans require participation in the Tuition Insurance plan which also varies according to the unpaid balance.
Fees Fees in addition to tuition include technology and instructional fees, Preschool snack fees, Middle School P.E. uniforms, and optional fees for after school programs.
Deposit A deposit of $400 is due for all students when enrollment contracts are returned each year. The deposit is applied toward tuition and is non-refundable. Financial Aid All financial aid is awarded on the basis of need. The school is committed to the proposition that no student wishing to pursue the educational opportunities available at Southfield be denied that chance due to financial hardship. The school also believes that a diverse student body is in the best interests of all children attending Southfield. Tuition assistance is available to students in Kindergarten through 8th grades and is awarded on the basis of need. A student must be admitted to Southfield before any financial aid decision can be made. A separate application for financial aid must be submitted and is then evaluated by an outside firm called "School & Student Service for Financial Aid." This process is completely confidential. Scholarships Maintaining access to a Southfield education for a highly qualified, diverse student body is in the best interests of all children attending the School. To ensure not child is denied this opportunity due to financial hardship, a limited number of scholarships have been established. The application requirements, amounts awarded and the duration and availability of these funds vary from scholarship to scholarship. Currently, Southfield has embarked on a multi-million dollar campaign to increase the School's endowment. Almost a third of the funds raised will be set aside for scholarships and financial aid. |
