Dear Parents,

This will be a fun last week of school. We will see the "Pinocchio" play today in the Dickson theater. On Friday we will have our end of the year Ice Cream social with all of our preschool 4 friends. This will begin at 10:30 in the courtyard. Parents are invited, but it's really low key. It usually lasts about twenty minutes and then we head to the playground. We should get our yearbooks this week too!

We will finish our ocean unit this week.

Topics of discussion: The book "Mister Seahorse" teaches us about parenting skills from the father's perspective. The daddy in this story has a very important role.  We will also read "Rainbow Fish" and discuss the importance of sharing.

Science: Dolphins are small whales. Whales are mammals. Sharks are fish. Hopefully our Butterflies are ready to be released. They have been inside their chrysalis for almost 10 days now.

Math: We will build a cube and play "How Many Cubes Can You Use?"

Reading - Literacy: We will finish Unit 9. We will recall story details of "Peter and the Wolf". We will practice identifing categories, marking an "x", and drawing a line under certain pictures.

Art: We will finish our ocean pictures and make a fish with two identical sides.......another lesson in symmetry!

Our End of Year Ice Cream Social begins at 10:30 on Friday, May 25. We are out of school for Memorial Day on Monday, May 28.  School is completely dismissed on Wednesday, May 30 at 12:00 noon. We will have our last Flag Ceremony on that Wednesday.
