Mary Kay Beck is in her sixth year teaching French to Southfield students in preschool, lower school and seventh and eighth grades. She is the only teacher in northwest Louisiana using the internationally acclaimed Accelerated Integrative Method (AIM) for teaching foreign language. Mary Kay has a BA from Wheaton College and an MA from the University of Illinois at Champaign. She has eight years experience in education.

9/25/09:  Bonjour! We have a had a great first 6 weeks or so in French!  We have learned to say our names, the weather, how we are doing (ask the children to sing the "Comment ça va?" song for you), numbers, the days of the week, (dimanche, lundi, mardi, mercredi, jeudi, vendredi, samedi,), numbers 1-20, parts of the body, family members, and basic verbs such as sit, stand, be quiet, talk, sing, dance, walk, run, listen, etc.
