October 17 - 21

Theme:  Halloween and Night Animals

Literacy and Language:  We will read Stellaluna, The Very Busy Spider, Aarrgh Spider, and Owl Babies, and Little Owl.  We will discuss what it means to be nocturnal.

Art Activities:  Our color for the week is white.  We will be making zig-zag bats, skeletons, owl babies, and spider webs with marble painting.

Discovery and Sensory:  We will be talking about the sense of hearing in the coming week and we will explore pumpkins inside and out as we did not finish that task last week.

Math:  Number 5 on the number line is coming up.

Cooking:  On Thursday we are going to go way out on a limb and try making meringue ghosts.

Parents Corner:

Saturday, October 15^th – Preschool Picnic.  Please join us!

 Monday, October 24^th - Fall Break.  No School.

We are still collecting glass jars for an art project.  All sizes are welcome.  We need on for each child.  Please send them this week.
