September 19 - September 23

Theme:  We are Growing and the color Purple

Literacy and Language:  We will read Harold and the Purple Crayon, I Love You the Purplest, Mouse Paint , and Hands, Hands, Fingers, Thumb.

Art Activities: We will try out Harold’s adventurous ways with a purple crayon.  We will also dip our feet in purple paint for a little foot painting and trace our bodies to see how big our parts are.  Marshmellow painting will follow at the end of the week as will a purple collage.

Discovery and Sensory:  We will use an eyedropper to place drops of red and blue colored water onto a sugar cube to see if we can make purple.  Since it is feeling more like fall we will have deer corn in our sensory table.

Math:  Rectangle is our shape for the week and the # 2 is our number of focus this week.  I hope everyone has put up their number one already.

Cooking:  On Thursday we will make thumbprint cookies (a preschool favorite)! 

Parents Corner:  Courtyard begins soon and volunteer sheets went home in your child’s bag.  It is sooo much fun.  I hope you can join us.  As always, thank you for the privilege of teaching your precious children.
