Discovery Class Newsletter

October 3 - 7

Theme:  Fall

Literacy and Language:  We will read  Fresh Fall Leaves, Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf,  The Leaf Man, Going on a Leaf Hunt, and Picking Apples and Pumpkins.

Art Activities:  We will be making water color leaf placemats, melted crayon leaves, a fall tree, paper towel leaves, and a fingerpaint tree.  Our color for the week is brown.

Discovery and Sensory:  We will begin our study of the five senses with the sense of sight.  We will take a nature walk and look for fall colors and collect fall items.

Math:  We will begin talking about positional words like over, under,  beside, and between.

Cooking:  On Thursday we will make brownies for snack.

Parents Corner:  Courtyard has been a huge success.  Thanks to all the moms and dads who have volunteered.
