October 24 - 28

Theme:  Halloween and the color black

Literacy and Language:  We will read, Inside a House That is Haunted, Say Boo, Five Little Pumpkins and Owl Babies.  We will continue discussing animals that are nocturnal and if we think ghosts are real.

Art Activities:  Our color for the week is black.  We will be gluing “ghosts” in our old black haunted house.  We’ll make salt dough ghost and do a lot of pumpkin art for pumpkin shine.

Discovery and Sensory:  We will be talking about the sense of touch in the coming week.  This will include corn starch slime and “john browns body”.

Math:  We will stick jack o lantern stickers on the number five.

Cooking:  On Thursday we are going to make owls out of moonpies.

Parents Corner:

Monday, October 24^th - Fall Break.  No School.

Friday, October 28^th – Halloween Program at 8:30 in the gym!!!

Please send your child in costume with a change of clothes in their bag.  We will have a party afterward.

We are still collecting glass jars for an art project.  All sizes are welcome.  We need on for each child.  Please send them Monday or Tuesday.
