January 23 - 27

Theme: Bears

Literacy and Language:  This week we will read Teddy Bear Picnic, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? Bear Wants More, and Bear Snores On.

Art Activities:  We will make polar bear caves out of sugar cubes, brown bear collages, and do some trace and cut activities with bears

Discovery and Sensory:  We will still be exploring things that freeze and melt. 

Math:  We will be sorting bears by color and we will try a little bear addition.

Cooking:  On Thursday we will make hibernating bears by baking a teddy graham into a cup cake.

Parents Corner

Friday is PAJAMA DAY!  Please send your child in his/her favorite PJs and favorite teddy bear.  Please wear shoes as we will play outside if weather permits.  We also make hot chocolate and bear claws.

In an effort to keep our children safe, please refrain from using your cell phone while driving through carpool lines. We have had several scary instances due to distracted drivers that are texting or talking on the phone.  Carpool is a busy time, and we want to make every effort to keep everyone safe! Thank you for your cooperation.
