Theme: Holiday Happenings

Literacy and Language:  The Tree, Clifford’s First Christmas, K is for Kwanza, Las Navidades, The Wild Reindeer, and Latkes and Applesauce and many more holiday selections.

Art Activities:  We will make all sorts of Christmas trees and wreaths.  We will marble paint a candy cane.

Discovery and Sensory:  We are still exploring magnets.  We will also make a holiday scent bag.

Math:  We will make a Christmas tree from assorted triangles, stacking from smallest to largest.  Also, we will roll dice to find out how many sticker dots we can put on our tree.

Cooking:  On Thursday we will bake and decorate reindeer cupcakes

Parents Corner

On Thursday please send your child in something red or green or “holidayfied”.  We want to take a group picture in our class.

In an effort to keep our children safe, please refrain from using your cell phone while driving through carpool lines. We have had several scary instances due to distracted drivers that are texting or talking on the phone.  Carpool is a busy time, and we want to make every effort to keep everyone safe!  Thank you for your cooperation. 

Three or four moms needed to repair holiday costumes on Thursday at 8:30.

Your child will need white tights and a white turtle neck for the Holiday Program.  Please be sure the turtle neck is long enough to cover your child’s bottom.

The preschool will continue Southfield’s tradition of community Service by collecting afterschool snacks for the Lighthouse program sponsored by Volunteers of America.  We are collecting individually packaged snacks to contribute to this effort.  Good examples of snacks are granola bars, nutra-grain bars, raisins, dried fruit, cheese crackers, etc.  We will collect these snacks for the next two weeks.  Thank you in advance for your assistance.
