Bonjour!  Welcome to fourth grade French!  So far this year we have worked on saying our name, the weather, the parts of the body, the days of the week, the numbers 1-20, colors, and family.  We have also done a review of our plays from Kindergarten and 1st grade, La Petite Poule Rouge and Boucles D'Or, which contain a lot of useful vocabulary.  This Saturday I am doing a presentation of the method I use, The Accelerated Integrative Method (AIM), for our region of the Louisiana Foreign Language Teachers Association in the Southfield Commons.  I have invited your children to be a part of this demonstration and I hope many of them can come!  The presentation is from about 10:20-11:00.  Next week we will be reviewing Les Trois Petits Cochons for the presentation and the week after that we will review the play the children did in second grade, Le Chat et la Lune.  Little by little, I am presenting the vocabulary for our new play, Comment Y Aller?  Soon the children will begin learning the play.  They will work in small groups and read it aloud for themselves.  I can't wait to see how this bright group of students does with this challenging play.  I look forward to a great year!
