Jennifer joined Southfield in 2011 as a first grade teacher. She joined the school with over 20 years of experience in education. She has a BS in Elementary Education from LSUS.

Weekly News

May 21-25

 

Reading- working on the "aw" and "all" sounds.  End of the year assessment.

Spelling- Top 50 first grade words.

Math- facts to 20, more fractions, symmetry, end of the year assessment.

Reminders:

Wednesday- End of the year 1st grade party.  Bring beach towels, favorite book, sack lunch, favorite ice cream topping.  We will start at 11:00 lunch time, followed by ice cream and cookie cake.

First Grade Weekly News

                April 9-13       

Reading- phonics: y as the long e and long i sound, the “ay” sound, comprehension and fluency of the story In Case of Rain.

Spelling- too, hungry, sky, empty,

work, first, happy, many, try, down.

Math- more practice with money, place value, introduction to dollars

Science- magnet unit
