Dear First Grade Parents,

Welcome to First Grade!  I am looking forward to working with you and your child this year.  We are going to have an exciting year in First Grade.  I am very excited about our reading program, Super Kids! There will be many hands-on activities to go along with reading, writing, social studies, science and math throughout the year.  We will be going on several field trips this year and I hope you will volunteer to drive throughout the year. 

Please remember to send the following items:

• Beach towel  (with name) for DEAR time
• Small stuffed animal to keep your child company during the first 3 weeks of school.  All of these small “friends” will have a special place in the classroom.
• Send a “Pop Top” water bottle.
• Send a nutritious snack.

Please don’t forget to send the following items that were requested on the school supply list information letter:

• Sweater to leave at school
• Tote bag or backpack ( No Rolling Backpacks)
• Art smock ( old large adult T-shirt works best)
• 2 boxes of Kleenex
• 2 rolls of paper towels

We have “snack time” everyday before recess or PE.  Children are to bring their own healthy snacks from home.  Donations for extra “class snacks” for those who forget their snacks are welcomed!
